Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope your holidays were joyous, and full of friends, family, and food.  In our family, my cousin became the first grandchild to get married.  It was a black-tie-optional New Year's evening, and I love his new bride.  Even though it was their big day, she was sweet enough to remember that January 1st is my dad's birthday, and at the reception gave HIM a card!

On the pathtag home front it is business as usual.  Owls have taken over a corner of ArtisticWhims, and don't feel like you have to wait for MidWest GeoBash to have one for yourself!

Dewy Decimal Cache

A bunch of us got together to have a cache-a-thon, and made it from south of Toledo, OH to just north of Monroe, MI.  In two days we put in about 22 hours, and although that means we missed a lot of the official events, we still had more fun than should be allowed.  We even managed to find a few specialty caches, like an earthcache that required us to dig for our own fossils, a webcam cache, and a dewy decimal cache!  Spending the day(s) caching with Vonnie (vonjoekasey), Nick (magtfplanner) and Jeff (inxplicablfate) were amazing and the real world just isn't as much fun!!

MWGB 2011 Time!

Its time to publish the yearly check list for MidWest Geobash.  This year the fun takes place July 28th through 31st at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Wauseon, OH.  Please remember that the bash is in an Emerald Ash Borer Zone, so DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD!

The bird of choice this year is the pelican, and it will be a beach bash theme!  Don't forget that after 10 PM the bond fires turn into Area-51, and if you're one for drinking, or just a lightweight (like I am) then don't forget to bring a few hangover cures as well.
